Background:
Heritage Lanes is an award winning sustainable workplace precinct in Brisbane, Australia. It was the first certified 6 star green star building in Australia! Mirvac is the building manager leading the project and supported by building tenants and internal cafes.
Challenge:
To implement a reusable cup system into the building, and to include both internal and external facing cafes while meeting core aesthetic goals, and build the office culture. Engage the venues for support and provide the solution that they can easily adopt.
Solution:
Co-branded Cercle Steel cups and over 40 Drop Pods are utilised on office floors and key areas. A custom stand was created in late 2025 and on-site washing developed and refined. Key support includes tenants operating the internal cafes requiring their cafe to 100% eliminate single use. Cleaning contractors involved in the servicing of the reuse system has been critical in operating the internal wash hub solution.
Impact:
The HL Cycle project is going strong after 2 years and and the team continues to support through ongoing activations, internal comms channels and digital marketing. Staff surveys consistently show high support for the sustainability initiative.
